A quick post today that the turkey girls and their chicks were back both last evening and again this morning. I think we’ve renamed the lower meadow “turkey meadow” for obvious reasons. Definitely the same two hens and same chickies. I couldn’t count them as easily this morning so it’s not clear if all the babies have made it through the past 48 hours, but we love that they are semi-regulars the past few days. We hope they keep coming back.
Speaking of loving things, in case you were wondering, sheep love shelled pea pods. 🙂 I had five “buddies” this morning and was even able to hand feed two of the rams, one of the Tunis sheep (red-faced, very cute) and one of the Ellis Hollow sheep bred by our loaner sheep lady. The Tunis was quite insistent, however, that he was going to get most of the pods. Now we’re trying to decide whether the Tunis sheep need names. Stay tuned!
