It’s late November: winter weather and holidays plus end-of-semester chaos. Whee!!
It’s been a while since I posted photo(s) of the house. The roof was completed this past Monday–ridge vent and everything. I cannot imagine installing that thing: on the roof line two stories plus a walk-out basement up [c r i n g e].
It was just in time since we had some icy rain a day later and then everything froze and we’ve had snow off and on since then. It’s been a unusually wintery November.
But today we have partly sunny skies so it’s one of those winter days when we really appreciate the land: southern slope, open meadow, trees just far enough way to keep the sense of openness, rolling hills in the distance.
After being stymied by the weather Wednesday, our Amish crew is back today and working hard. They have almost finished the house wrap and will then turn to window installation. Our nifty lift rental ends noonish next Friday so the plan is to get at least all the second-story windows installed by next Friday morning before our friend le nifty goes away.
Without further ado, here’s a photo from around noon today. I call it “house a la sun and snow” (apparently WordPress isn’t so good with accents–sorry).
