The first pears from our two pear trees in the orchard. Unfortunately, a third one fell on the ground when Ron was mowing. It sat in the fruit bowl for several days because it wasn’t ripe. I was too impatient and cut into it before it ripened. It wasn’t great (too dusty, too much skin, not sweet enough), but we can tell they will be great pears. The chickens, however, thought the unripe pear slices were quite tasty so I didn’t feel too bad about “wasting” the very first pear.
